ESET Endpoint Protection Standard Review

 ESET Endpoint Protection Standard (EPS) starts at $190 for 5 devices per year, and remains an excellent hosted endpoint protection option for small and midsized companies since the last time we tested it. Over the past year, ESET has extended the platform with Remote Administrator, a web based and centralized management console for monitoring and controlling each of your endpoint devices;
 and if you opt for the Endpoint Protection Advanced license, you'll also get additional network

 protection features, such as a software firewall and network attack protection. While all this has made the user interface a little more difficult to learn, all those positives add up to a continued Editors' Choice designation along with fellow competitors, Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra and Sophos Intercept X.If you're using ESET’s cloud hosted option, Remote Administrator is already set up for you.

 If you opt to use it in a private cloud environment, you'll need to deploy it into some kind of virtualized environment. ESET is very flexible with this requirement, though, supporting not just Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare ESXi on the local side, but also public cloud options, such Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or some other system capable of hosting a virtual machine. Regardless

 of the basic deployment path, the actual setup process is painless.  Once live, you can immediately access the Remote Administrator via a web browser. The virtual machine deployment options can get complex, so if you're looking for simplicity you'll want the cloud service version, which only requires a new password, license information, and an optional static IP address.
